Market Research

i researched into market research for my type of music. It seems to me that it is all about the image of the artist and if he has money, clothes, cars and gets girls he has got that perfect hip-hop culture image. To sell magazines in this genre you need to show this throughout the magazine. It always has to show the artist looking good and having that sense of 'swagga'.

I knew straight away which genre of music i wanted to do for my magazine, mainly because it’s my favorite genre, which is Hip-Hop. i had many clear ideas of what i wanted to do but all very different. I had totally different ideas therefore i needed to ask my mates, teachers and target audience to find out which was the best ideas. The target age for Hip-Hop is around 16– 25 years ago. This works out well for me as that’s my age range and all have many friends in that age range which i then asked for their thoughts about my ideas. We are aiming the magazine at 16-25 year olds who love hip-hop music, also probably most our target audience would be of a black race as there brought up to like this type of music; but on the other hand todays age everyones listens to different music therefore we live the target audience open to everyone.

i have spoken to a few friends to try and get there input but i didn’t think that would be enough so i decided that i would have to ask more people. i think it would be best to do some sort of questionnaire to find out exactly what the audience like in a video and see my ideas fit with the target audience likes.

To advertise i thought i could put posters up of the magazine front cover each week in certain places; like bus stops etc this would be good because the target audience would see it around then when they see it in the shops  they would maybe look and buy the magazine. It would also spread the word of the magazine company name therefore giving it a good reputation which you need in this game; this allows the company name to become bigger and generate more fans.

Analysis Institutions Who Will Publish My Magazine

There's a wide market for hip-hop magazines but there are some main ones which take over the whole hip-hop scene. The biggest ones are:

Vibe:

As you see this is the vibe magazine its very big in the hip-hop magazine market and is very popular with people who like to read and enjoy this type of music. If we wanted to get our magazine out there in this type of difficult market we would have to create a magazine which has better story's and looks overall better we should have a good shot in the market. We could write to them to see if they would publish are magazine and join together that is another idea.

Vibe:

Again this is big in the market for hip-hop music. Again if i wanted to join them and ask if they will be a institution which will produce my magazine and they agree it would allow me to have more contacts within the business but on a serious note i don't think they would agree to it due to the competition it may cause against there own business.

With trying to find a institution who will produce my magazine it will be very hard as a new up coming magazine is very hard to get on the market as people are so use to buying there normal vile or source therefore trying to make them come out of there normal routine is hard. Therefore with getting some to publish your magazine i believe with this you should publish it yourself and be your on institution this allows you to keep all the shares of the business and still be your own boss. Also it eliminates any problems of conflict which my of came about if you allowed someone else to publish the magazine. This overall in my view saves a lot of problems.

Title Examples And Final Title Name

I was thinking to myself about what the magazine name could be as it is a very important factor in the whole project as that title has to tell the audience it is a hip-hop magazine as well as being effective and a good name. I asked a few of my mates and we came up with a choice of 5 names:

-Swag
-Observation
-Hip-Hop
-Say no more
-Musik

I thought long and hard about these name choices and i started to eliminate them 1 by 1; first of i eliminated 'Say no more' as in my view it was to long to have as a title on the magazine due to the fact titles of magazine are normal short and easy to read therefore catching the audience attention better. I then thought about 'observation' and decided that name was invalid to what i was doing as it sounds more like a house magazine etc then a hip-hop magazine therefore i decided to get rid of that idea from the name choices. I then thought about the title 'swag' i did like this name but i just thought it sounded about 'chavy' and would not draw some of are target audience to come read it therefore i decided to get rid of that name as well. So i was down to the last 2 names and thinking straight i did not want a average normal name i wanted a name which was different therefore not simple; so i picked 'Musik' to be my title name as it is different and it catches the audience eye as it is not spelt normally therefore making them come read it; It also is good because it can attract any type of music listener over as it does not just make the magazine sound like its focused on just hip-hop therefore it could attract audience members which are not even our target audience/market therefore making it overall much better.

I'm very happy with my title name and made sure i researched the names before i just jumped straight into naming it therefore it shows i planned it all and took my time.

Final Title Logo For My Magazine

This is the logo of the title which will be on the magazine front cover. I chose to make it different so it made it stand out from all the other hip-hop magazine; the logo is set out so it catches the audience eyes with the different colours i inserted into it. I did this on photoshop which made it easy for me as when your use to that software it is easy and simple to use. I have the issue number above the 'sik' so when another issue comes out we change that number therefore if people collect the magazines they can keep them in order etc. Overall i'm very happy with my logo and it stands out, its unique and it just looks overall professional. This is good as well because the audience will remember this logo so if the magazine was good and they want the next issue they will see that logo on the next magazine and buy it due to that they remembered the logo from the front cover of the last magazine.

Double Page Spread Font Analysis

I don't really like the the fonts on this double page spread at all; They have only used 2 different types of fonts and picked the worst colours for the text to have; red mixed with white on a black background is terrible and just looks horrible in my view. The font they use at the top for title looks really tacky and not up to a standard which you would think a professional magazine company would make. The font type which is used for the main writing is hard to understand due to the fact they put some in yellow some in white and it could confuse the reader. The fonts are all basically the same all the way through therefore making it boring as it just looks like loads of boring long essays which is not the effect you want on the audience; you want the effect that they want to read it and for them to enjoy wanted to read it not annoyed that they have to read it. I would give this double page spread out of 10 for its use of fonts 4/10.

Content Language Analysis

The language on this content is written to a high standard and in proper understandable high quaility english. As you see the titles stand out from trhe normal text therefore showing its more relevant to read that first making it easier for the audience to understand the language in the content. The language is set out easily and simple to read which also makes it a lot easier for the audience to read the information. The language on the content tells the audience clearly what every page has got on it therefore making it easier for them to navigate round the magazine. Also within the text which is written they have made certain bits bold these are the most important words which the reader needs to focus on. The language is written simply but in a way which explains where everything is on the magazine therefore making it overall better as it is doing the job the content page needs to do. Overall I will give the language on this content page 8/10.

Content Page Font Analysis

The fonts on this content page are simple but again there effective as they make the contents easy to read and also look good/ professional. The title of the contents at the top right is in a big white font to make it stand out from every other text on the page due to the fact the reader needs to know what the page is before they read the main text explaining where everything is within the magazine. The vibe font on the top right corner is pretty cool as it is totally different to the content writing within the page therefore showing its just a logo and nothing to do with the content information. The little headers which are down the right of the page which tell the reader what the writing underneath that is about, it is done in a sort of italic look and is bigger then the writing again to make sure they don't get confused about what that information is about therefore we have a title which stands out to avoid this confusion. As you see the fonts vary when going on the information on the left as some bits are whiter and stand out more then some bits; this shows the important information they should read but make sure they take note of it; these words are whiter and stand out more then the normal text to show the difference. The rest of the test is in a normal easy to read font with no special colours or fonts inserted into it; this is good because if a content page has too many different fonts within the page it starts to get confusion for the reader therefore having the last relelvant text in a normal text it allows the problem not to happen. I would rate this content page font styles 9/10.

Content Page Colours analysis

The colour patterns on this content page is simple; it has not got many colours at all on the content but it still is very effective content page as the colour of the background goes with the text, font colour and picture therefore it still hits its high standard.  I cant say much about the colours they have used on here because they have not used a variation they have kept it simple and it has paid of due to how good the picture is. The white title on the grey background looks good as the grey background compliments the white title and makes it stand out therefore attracting the audience eyes to it.  The black background at the top makes the whole background look 10 times more effective as it makes it less boring and simple. The black writing of the text on the content page look good as it does not conflict with the background of the page therefore it all goes well together. I would rate this content page on colour pattern 7/10 due to the lack of colour it has on it.

Double Page Spread Language Analysis

The language in this double page spread is written in very good English and also written to a very high standard; this is expected anyway for a professional magazine. As you see the language on the double page spread is set out easily and simple to read for the reader therefore avoiding confusion. There is a big quote in red on the left; as you see they could only pick a certain amount of words to fit there and the words they had to pick would have to be the most effective. This magazine has done this quite effectively as the phrase 'who's gonna die?' is used this attracts the audience to what to read the article therefore using the language effectively. They have also used language good in the article when there asking him questions; you can tell they have been pre-planned as the questions get every single piece of information out of the guy getting interviewed. I would rate this double page spread 8/10 for its use of language.

Double Page Spread Colour Pattern Analysis

The colours use on this double page spreadsheet is kept simple but again very effective look it has gave it. As you see there is no background but due to how different and original the picture use is on the pages it makes it look amazing. The text is black which makes it easy to read and understand on the white background; there is some points on the pages where some writing is darker then others this shows of its importance and shows it more relevant then the other writing. The use of title colour is good as well as it does not clash with the background, pictures or text and also looks professional. i would like to have my double page spread sort of like this but if you keep it plain and simple it could backfire and look completely terrible but sometimes the risk pays of. I like the way they have 1 of the 4 singers in a brighter colour then the other singers; this shows to the audience he is the main singer of the group and leader; this also makes the double page spread not look plain as there is a bit of colour on it now. I would give this double page spread 8/10 for its colour use.

Cover Analysis Language Register

Language is very important when doing a front cover of a magazine you have got to know what words to pick out and what words to take out of a sentence so its short and snappy. As you see on here the title 'Rick Ross who's the boss?' that is very short and snappy but very effective as if you think about it in 6 words that sentence will attract; Rick Ross fans, people who want to know who the boss is, people who are interested etc, 1 sentence has attracted a wide range of audience. As you see at the bottom right there is the line that says 'temperature rising' again attracting audience to want to read the magazine and see what they mean by the temperature rising therefore the language again has got them more customers. This magazine has not got the best language on it as if you look at it the fonts they have used classes with the picture and background making it hard to read therefore the audience not bother reading the titles. If you read every bit of information on the front cover and count how many words are on it there are 44 on this magazine and you can see how full it is; with these 44 words you have to pick the best words out and put them on it you need snappy sentences. Overall this magazine has done a avenge job on using good language on there front cover if i could improve it i would change the font colours so you can read it easily and take less words out of it keeping it simple. I would rate this 6/10 for its language use :)

Front Cover Colour Pattern Analysis

The colour pattern on this front cover magazine has stayed to a theme of black, white and yellow which it pulls of very well. As you see the background is black which when the yellow and write writing go over it the colours go very well together and they look very effective. Its good how they put a simple background as it goes while with the image of  Drake as he is dressed in all black; this is good because it is following the theme   of the magazine. I love the yellow mixed colours on the magazine as yellow looks so good on a black background and it compliments all the writing as well. The title looks good in white as it stands out and the audience look at it first before anything therefore knowing who made the magazine etc. The colour balance they have done on this magazine is perfect as it has not got too much colour and it has not got too little they have chosen the colours perfectly. I would give this magazine front cover for its colour pattern on it 10/10.

Front Cover Font Analysis

This is a rap-up magazine and i am going to analysis the fonts on this magazine cover. I will start with the big 't.i' in the corner; i love how it stands out from mostly every other font on the page, this is good because the artist name is what attracts the audience to come and read the magazine and with the font they have used it has made it stand out like crazy which is perfect for attracting there target audience. Below the 't.i.' on the magazine front cover it has a quote from him which is in write writing and a easy to read font with the last world in capitals; again this is good because it does not mix up or contract with the font above it, also it stands out again but not as much as the artist therefore they look at the artist name before they look at the quote which will avoid confusion. This is surrounded in a pink outline which adds even more attention to it; this is of course the main story in the magazine or they would not put this much attention in making it stand out.  At the bottom right there is a font which has black writing in it and a white outline this is a good font as it is different to the rest of the writing therefore making the magazine have variation of different fonts all over the magazine making it more interesting and better looking. Above that it has a title and writing underneath it which shows clearly the difference between the title and the underneath writting as the font they have chosen 1 stands out more then the other 1 therefore they have done that very well. Finally the main title at the top the font stands out over anything as it is bold black and is the first thing the audience should see therefore it should stand out from every other font which is on the magazine front cover. Overall the use of fonts they have used on this front cover is up to a normal standard; they could of used a bit more less boring fonts on it and also more different colours into it then in my view it would look better. I would rate this magazine on its fonts 7/10.

Double Page Spread Analysis For Magazine

This is a professional made double page spread in a magazine as you see it it up to a very high standard. The main key features you have to look out for and make sure there up to a high standard are:

  • Picture
  • Fonts
  • Colours
  • Writting
  • Background
The picture on this double page spread is very good as he is dressed liked a hip-hop artist therefore staying with the magazines theme; this is good because it is a hip-hop magazine so everything within it has to be seemed as a hip-hop style; for example you would not see a male model in this magazine as it would take it out of theme and the target audience would not like that. Its a simple picture of the artist therefore avoiding having to edit certain things within the picture and they have just left it simple which i like as simple is sometimes better.

The fonts within the double page spread are perfect in my view; they have made it easy to read, easy to understand. There change in fonts sometimes within the interview makes it look professional and stands out also takes away the boring factor as they are changing around the fonts to make it look more funky. The title font is very simple but stands out really well; this tells the audience who is getting interviewed straight away avoiding confusion with the audience etc.

The use of colours in this double page spread is good but they have not used a variation of colours but with how they have laid it out and how the picture is it does not need loads of colours to be effective. They have used good use of colours on the text as it shows clearly the questions which have been asked in red and the answers in white making it easier for the audience to know which is different between question and answer; this is a great idea and also takes away it being boring just plain black text adding colour to it. It used this black, white and red theme all the way through this double page spread making it have a theme through out which makes it more professional.

The writting is perfect in this text; it makes sense and is written to perfection so i cant say anything bad about it. But it is a professional magazine so you cant expect anything less then perfect English on the pages.

The background to this double page spread is really simple it is just white for both pages; as it sounds really boring it actually looks quite effective and allows the audience to just focus on the writting which is on the page. It is effective but it is not my type of background at all i would prefer it to be colourful and to not be as boring and simple; but it does its job effectively and overall looks very good.

I would rate this double page spread 7/10.

This is a professional made double page spread in a magazine as you see it it up to a very high standard. The main key features you have to look out for and make sure there up to a high standard are:

  • Picture
  • Fonts
  • Colours
  • Writting
  • Background
The picture on this double page spread is very sexy it draws the lads eyes to it straight away which is good because they already love the magazine; hip-hop has a biggest male audience then female by far therefore this is perfect start for the double page spread. I like what she is wearing and how it still has that feel of hip-hop culture in it. I love it how there are mini pictures of her at the top all along the row with different poses make the magazine look original which i love. The pictures are perfect and they go amazing with everything on the double page spread.

The fonts within this double page spread are good as they are easy to read and understand. The different font from titles and little texts next to the main picture is good because it takes over that boring factor if it just had all the same colour writting all the way thought.

The colours within the double page spread is ok but they have not used that many colours at all. The only things which are in colour on the double page spread are some letters which are in blue and the main picture; i love magazines to be colourful as i believe being black and white is boring and to simple. But with this double page spread they have been able to pull it of and still make it look very effective and good; i think this is due to how good the picture is and how good there idea of having loads of her in the background with different poses that makes the double page spread amazing in my view.

The writting is perfect in this text; it makes sense and is written to perfection so i cant say anything bad about it. But it is a professional magazine so you cant expect anything less then perfect English on the pages.

The background simply white but they have added things onto it which have made the background look very good; they have put a sort of boarder across the page which cuts of the writting from the pictures of her. I like this idea as they are splitting the text from the pictures but they still look involved therefore the pictures don't just take over the pages. The background to is simple but has done its job of looking professional therefore its a job well done for that choice of putting a simple background.

I would rate the double spread page 8/10 :)

Content Page Analysis

This is a magazine content page from the big magazine company 'vibe' these are a very big company and as you see do there magazines to a very high standard. The 5 main things a content page is about are:

  • Use of Colours
  • Fonts
  • Picture
  • Background
  • Writting
The use of Colours within this content page is very simple but very effective. It is in black and white most of it but there is 1 thing on the whole page which is in colour and that is the rose on Kanye West chest; this is good because it shows maybe this magazine will be emotional as the picture of Kanye West on the content page looks very emotion; it just tells the audience with the use of colour what the magazine is going to bring. I do love the use of colours on this content page which for me is strange as i normally like very colourful things but with this it just gives it the feel of how emotional it is probably going to be and it tops it of with a amazing image on it absolutely perfect.

The use of fonts within this content page is not the best in my view; they chose a different font which looks very hard to read they did this to make it different to just normal plain font but to me it has backfired as it struggle to read that sort of writing. Also i believe they should of made the writing a bit bigger as again i think the audience will struggle to read it. I do like the mini titles they have got on the content though due to the fact it is to a big size and simple to read therefore fulfilling its goal. I do love the font of the main title at the top though as it stands out and is totally easy to read. The title is different as it goes down the page every 2-4 letters of the word therefore making it look totally original  but different in a very good way.

The picture which has been used for this content page is amazing in my view in shows so much emotion in just 1 shot. I like the way it has a girls hand coming over his chest again making it original and different but adding this sad emotion to it even further. I like the way they dressed him in this picture as he looks smart but at the same time quite fashionable also he still has that feel of being hip-hop. The rose on his chest which is the only thing on the magazine which has colour is very strange as it makes the audience wonder why is that the only thing red making them read on because it has to be symbolic to something in the magazine, it also adds emotion again to the picture as red is symbolic to love but at the same time symbolic to blood which is pain. His facial expressions has sort of no emotion at all which allows the audience to widen there thinking, it is a clever idea as it does not allow them to know what will be in the magazine; no emotion meaning go on read on and find out what it is all about very very effective.

The background to this magazine basically is staying to the black and white concept to make it carry on with the whole theme of this page. I do like the background as it does not effect what you can read as the background compliments the text therefore allowing the audience to easily read the text within the contents. I do like the little grey sort of 'v' in the right corner of the background; this is very good as just with a simple change of colour within the background it has filled up a space on the page leaving no serious open blank spots. If you look at it and imagine it without that blue bit in the background you will see what i mean as without that the right corner will just look empty which is not what a magazine wants at all.

The writting within the content is easy to understand, makes perfect sense and is written to a very high standard which is what is needed for a magazine; i have no floors with the writting at all it is written to perfection which adds that professional tone to it overall.

Overall i will give this content page 9/10.

Again this is a magazine content page from the big magazine company 'vibe' these are a very big company and as you see do there magazines to a very high standard. The 5 main things a content page is about are:

  • Use of Colours
  • Fonts
  • Picture
  • Background
  • Writting
The use of colours on this content page is exactly how it was on the other content page i just analysed. It sticks to a simple black and white concept which adds the hip-hop culture into it. I like the way they have kept it simple but it still looks amazing; the black and white feel i enjoy as again the picture reflex s this black and white feeling, and if it was in colour i don't think it would have the same effect. The colour choice in my view was very effective and i would not chance it if i could.

The use of fonts in this content page is very good as they have chosen fonts which are easy and to read therefore avoiding confusion within the audience. The font for the middle titles at the top are very good as it shows there different to the little writting underneath and showing they have to read the bigger and different font before they try to read the other writing. All the fonts are easy to read. I do love the font of the main title at the top though as it stands out and is totally easy to read. The title is different as it goes down the page every 2-4 letters of the word therefore making it look totally original  but different in a very good way.

The picture is very hip-hop related on the content page; the picture has the feel of a poor area where these guys live but they love there music and want to make it famous which is there goal; that is quite a lot of big hip-hop artist life's well how they did live, hardly any of the hip-hop artist came from a good background most came from a rough background with a bad family that is why they love to have 'swagga'; because it is a dog eat dog world and if you come across weak you will be eaten first. It has the feel of the hip-hop background as he has got 'bling' adding that hip-hop sense to the picture. Also the fashion they are all wearing is mainly from a hip-hop culture again adding that feel of hip-hop to it further. The background looks very poor and it just shows what some hip-hop artist came from and shows you that you don't need to have a good lifestyle to make it famous you can become famous from anywhere.

The background looks very poor and it just shows what some hip-hop artist came from and shows you that you don't need to have a good lifestyle to make it famous you can become famous from anywhere. The background to me just shows hope that if you want something so much you can get it no matter what lifestyle you lend it is very effective as it keeps to the genre of the magazine and also if you look deep into it gives you a message.

The writting within the content page is easy and simple to read. The English in it is perfect and you would not expect anything less from a professional magazine company. I have no floors about the writting at all it was perfect so i cant say anything else about it.

Magazine Cover Analysis

Here is a magazine cover which is made by vibe who are 1 of the biggest hip-hop magazine makers in the world. As you see it looks professional and is done to a very high standard. I love the way it is simple as well as still making it look effective. As you see the picture is the most important factor of the front cover; if you look at this picture it takes up most the room on the magazine and is a very high quality shot this is done so it attracts the audience to the magazine due to the fact his face is known by the target audience who read this magazine so when they see his face they are interested in what the magazine may have inside. The colour use within the magazine is very important as well if the colours do not fit with each other the magazine will look out of place; as you see on this magazine cover all the colours compliment each other so the audience can read it without any trouble therefore making it overall much better. The title on the top is important as well; you always need a important title to attract the audience. As you see this magazine has the title 'making of notorious 10 big secrets the film won't tell' this is what there target audience love as it is a hip-hop film therefore attracting the audience to buy the magazine just to find out the '10 big secrets' of the notorious film. On the magazine they have made the big famous names in the hip-hop institution stand out with a different font which draws your eyes to there names; they have made 'Kanye West' name biggest then most texts on the page and also a bright colour so the audience look at that first. This was done because his name is established in the hip-hop game therefore if they have his name standing out it attracts the audience to come read it, it is a big marketing Technic. The colour of the title was a good choice because it goes with the background of the magazine; also the title colour relates to what Kanye west is wearing as well on his jumper his top bit of it is blue. This is good because it shows they have a relevance to each other making the magazine seem more professional. Finally the background of the magazine was again a good choice as the fonts titles within the magazine front cover do not clash with the background at all making it easy to read and understand everything within the page; this is good because it makes the magazine look more professional and makes it look just better. Overall i think this magazine is up to a very high standard as they kept it simple and not to complex but they made it effective due to there use in different fonts, colours, different font sizes just doing simple things to give it that original effect and it worked. I would give this magazine cover 9/10.

This is another magazine which is for hip-hop music. As you see they have gone quite complex with this magazine front cover; i like the way the picture has 2 different famous hip-hop artist faces split in half and put together to make it look like it is one man. I like this because it is original and different and when anything is original it attracts the audience to go look at it making it a big market Technic. I like the way the picture stands out from the rest and gives it that hip-hop feel to the magazine. I don't like the way they have packed so much information onto this front cover due to the fact you want titles which will be snappy and simple to read for a audience as he may just be walking past and looking but if he sees this he cant just have a quick glance to see if he is interested he would have to take his time to read it which want on my magazine. I like the way they have got the different background colours on each side of the page showing that they are 2 different people and not just one. Also i like how they have got the main article which they know the audience will want to read the most at the bottom in huge writting bigger then the title of the magazine is good; this is good because it makes the wonder what is it about as it says above the 'ultimate fight' 2 mainstream big hip-hop artist so the audience may wonder if there going to have a fight making them interested to come and read it. I like the way the main image on the magazine looks like it is sticking out and sort of 3d this makes it look amazing and totally different to anything any magazine has done before. The colour use within this front cover in my view is too simple and does not stand out enough apart from the big title at the bottom of the magazine; if i created this i would of had some bright colours to make it stand out from just any normal magazine. I do like the way they have things over laying each other in my view it just makes it look better and more professional, for example as you see on the right side at the top there is a title saying 'mac' but over it is a little sticker which says about something within the magazine i think it gives it that feel of professionalism.Overall i think this magazine front cover is very effective to attract there target market audience as it has that sort of mean hip-hop look on the picture and also the title stands out with the big mainstream artists names above it again adding more interest to the target audience. I would give this magazine cover 8/10.

Genre Chosen

I chose to do rap/hip-hop genre for my magazine as you can probably tell as all my magazines covers and everything on my blog is from a hip-hop culture. I chose do to this because it is what i like to listen to therefore i know much more about it then other genres; also i feel comfortable being able to decribe certain things within it therefore making my project overall better.

Hip-Hop/Rap is all about there imagine as you see most of them love to flash there bling and show how much money they have got; the hip-hop culture is different to other genre as it is individual in all sorts of ways and the things they look at and like i enjoy looking into; this is why i picked rap/hip-hop as i can reflect on it and when decribing and making my magazine i have the ideas mind of a hip-hop magazine designer as it is music i enjoy listening to.

Content Page Moodboard

I created a mood-board for the content page which shows a different types of content styles and choices which i could do when making mine. There is not that many content page pictures within Google or on the internet so i found it really hard to get different variations of picture types for this. This mood-board is good because it helps me see what a professional contents page looks like for the big hip-hop magazines. The content is all about a decent picture and then with writing which is easy to read and understand for the audience therefore they can get round the magazine easy and simple. It is not meant to be complex like the front over it is meant to stay simple as it is a page where the audience look to find were certain things are within the magazine. As you see still the pictures within the content are very good and have been picked perfectly for the page this is very important as it is still about how it looks and every page has to be up to a high standard. The writting on every contents page is simple and easy to read; again this is needed so the audience can see where to look on this page to find the interview etc they are looking for. The layout is very important as well as it either makes the content page look amazing or terrible; where you place pictures and writting has to be tested first and played around with before you find its perfect spot (its either the make or break for this page). Overall i believe i did this mood-board to a high standard and choice images which reflect to my genre and how i want to lay my content page out.

Double Spread Page Moodboard

This is the double page spread mood-board i did. As you see it has a few images of example of what a mood-board would look like and how good standard it is done. It was very very hard to find pictures for a hip-hop genre on Google for a double page spread so i made use of every image i found. As you see with a double page spread it is all about writing and photos basically half photos half writing; this makes it look professional and not just boring as there photos for the audience to look at as well as writing for them to read. Colours are useful on the double page spread as you don't want it just to be boring and with no colour due to the fact it does not look interesting. The writing on the content has to be a easy to read font which the audience can read with no trouble at all this is important so they can actually read what the double page spread is about. Overall i'm very happy with my double page spread mood board as it has a variation of different types of double page spreads.
